The Tides... South Beach
Took a break from the cold Baltimore weather and headed to South Beach in Miami. I know many east coast folks head there for an escape and when you do I have a few recommendations for you.

Took a break from the cold Baltimore weather and headed to South Beach in
Miami. I know many east coast folks head there for an escape and when you do I
have a few recommendations for you. We stayed at the gorgeous art deco
hotel The Tides, first class service all the way. The most amazing part is the
concierge that puts you on all the guest lists at the hottest clubs and
restaurants... no waiting in line and no cover charge, there, now you know a
secret. While there, you must dine at 1220 at The Tides. Dine on the gorgeous
terrace overlooking Ocean Drive and the beach or inside in art deco elegance.
Executive Chef, Paul Blouin, has perfected this eclectic menu. The Tides chilled watermelon soup is a great way to begin your meal or you may choose the
Lobster Bisque, either way, you can't go wrong. Order a Mojito, as well, the
best I found in Miami. My entree, The Two Tunas, consisted of red and white
tunas, seared and sesame crusted with a tamarind coconut drizzle. I would fly
back just for that delectable meal. Leave room for the Chocolate Lava Souffle
or the warm Chocolate Tart with carmelized bananas and banana macadamia nut
ice cream with a chocolate tuile. After dinner, stroll down Ocean Drive and
walk off the calories under the Miami moon.
